Estimator / Sales – Residential Construction (Additions, Kitchens, Baths, Interiors, Basements)

Big Dog Construction is growing fast, and we are looking for an experienced, detail-driven Estimator/Sales Professional who can confidently perform take-offs, measurements, and produce accurate estimates for residential remodeling and addition projects.
We need someone efficient, reliable, and capable of owning this role from day one.
Responsibilities
- Perform accurate field measurements, site visits, and quantity takeoffs
- Prepare detailed estimates, scopes of work, and budgets for:
- Home additions
- Kitchens
- Bathrooms
- Interior renovations
- Basements
- Home additions
- Review architectural plans, engineer drawings, and client sketches
- Determine material quantities, labor requirements, and subcontractor pricing
- Present estimates to clients and assist with sales process
- Work with the project management team to hand off approved jobs
- Maintain and update estimating templates, pricing, and cost databases
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, vendors, and team members
Requirements

2+ years of estimating experience in residential construction (required)
- Ability to complete accurate takeoffs and square footage calculations
- Strong understanding of residential building components, current pricing, and construction methods
- Proficiency with estimating software (Buildertrend, CoConstruct, Clear Estimates, PlanSwift, or similar)
- Ability to read architectural plans and structural drawings
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication during client interactions
- High level of accuracy — no “close enough” estimating

- Comfortable walking jobsites and taking precise measurements
- Enjoys turning homeowner conversations into clear, professional estimates
